About the library
The Library was established in 1920.
In 1995, it was granted the name of Mikalojus Daukša. The Library’s document stock consists of 82,947 items, including the collection of regional studies documents, the collection of bookplates of the International Ex-Libris Contest Exlibris. The 400 Years of Postilla of M. Daukša; and the collections of vinyl records, table games and computer games. The Library is active in project and publishing activities.
In 2002, the programme of education and development of Kėdainiai region information society was started. The public Internet access centres and points are functioning at the Library and its branches. The full-text database Kėdainiai in the Press and the virtual library (http://www.kedainiai.rvb.lt/virtuali.html) was created. The blind and visually impaired library users are issued audio books; user trainings are organised; Children Day Care Centre services are provided.
